- Select country: Choose 'Japan' as your country of residence and fill out your personal details, including your mobile number and address.
- Enter OTP: Enter the 6-digit one-time code sent to your phone.
- Verify your account: Submit your ID documents to complete the verification of your Instarem account.
- Account approval: Once your account is approved, enter the recipient's details, including their name and bank account number.
- Enter transfer details: Select your recipient, enter the amount you wish to send, and choose the currency.
- Review transfer details: Review all transfer details, including the amount, exchange rate, and recipient information.
- Make payment: Fund your international transfer by making the payment using bank transfer.
- Verify transfer: Verify your international money transfer by entering the verification code sent to your registered phone number or email.
- Track your transfer: Use your Instarem account to monitor the progress of your transfer.
You can start sending money as soon as your account is verified. Once your documents and information are reviewed, you’ll receive an email notification confirming that your account is ready to use or if additional information is required.

To open an account and make a transfer, you need to provide your full legal name (in English + the full name on your ID with exactly the same character (ENG/Kanji/Kana) on the document), date of birth, nationality, occupation, current residential address, Individual Number, and email address. You’ll also need to upload photos of your valid identification documents that match the personal details you provide.
To verify your account, you can submit either:
- My Number Card, or
- A valid photo ID (e.g., The front side of your My Number Card, resident card) along with an Individual Number document (e.g., Back side of your My Number Card).
